You can livez witout a spleen, but you cannots live wit a tumor dat iz too big & too bad wit cancer.

Da Holly-day update

'Huh? Why do I gets da tail of disrespect?!"

Um... it haz been soez long dats I yam not sure da momee here knowz how to typesez anymore... but we are gonna givez it da old coll-age try. We iz not reely comin' back to bloggin' but has to say dats we missez da community of catsez on da CB.

Weeze had trubblez here, wit cat health. We also knowz dat some of our besty frendz haz passed on or been diagnosed wit grave problemz. Dis makes us furry sad indeed.

I haz a weight problem! I haz losted three point five poundsez evfun though I yam floofy & eatin.' I yam goin' to da vetsez tomorrow wit da dadee & getted poked at.

Teenage Ella takes care of Missy D.

Da Delilah waz diagnosed wit Grand Mal seesurez (epilepsy) & gotted so bad she waz hospittylized fur a bit about a month ago until we couldz get dem under control. So now she iz on meddycull catnip: phenobarbitol. She & da Ella are now besty frendsez & da Ella takesez good care of her. Plus, Ella justy had her feeemaile surgeree a couple weeksez ago.

Iris gotted da fleez & all kindsez of allergeez frum da fleez. Maxie iz still da grumpy grinch he alwayz waz but I guess I gotta lovez my brudder.

I am 10 weeks old and I have a brand new home.

There are four G-I-A-N-T cats who live here. They growl and spit. But I think I will make them like me anyways!

Do you know where I am?

I left my momma and sisters and brothers yesterday and drove home in a car.

No, I am not old enough to drive yet, but a nice woman did and talked to me all the way.

I fell asleep and when I woke up, there were the four G-I-A-N-T things staring at me like they wanted to eat ME! But I like this place... and maybe the G-I-A-N-T things will learn to love me.

Thank you all for your kind words, beautiful poems, and holding the light for Auntie's passage to the Bridge. We are very sad here, even though we knew it was the right thing to do. Our hearts hurt with our empty arms. Such a tiny cat made such a huge impression on our spirits and in our family. Thanks so much to the CB and to Dr Tweety's friends across the US and halfway across the globe for your various tributes to this amazing cat. We will visit when the worst of our sorrow has quieted to the soft spots we reserve for the ones who came before.

Sad, sad news. Auntie Stinkie being helped to the Bridge tonight.

Dearest friends,

Auntie Stinkie has fallen gravely ill. She is in complete and irreversible renal failure. We have made the decision that she counts on us to do and she will be helped to the Bridge tonight at 5:30 p.m. The vet will come to the house and help our dearest girl to join other legendary cats that have come before. Our hearts are breaking, but as I write this, Auntie Stinkie is thanking us for being brave enough to let her go. She is very tired and very weak.

I wanted to tell you the story of how she came to live with us, before I can’t muster any more thoughts. Some of you may have read a little bit about this before in an older post, but it helps me to focus on the incredible miracles of animal and human interaction:

In 2003, I visited my husband-to-be at his home in Oregon. He and I sat in the summer night watching the stars. Suddenly a raspy “Waah! Waah!” sounded from the dark. A very petite shadow of a cat was visible. I could see large patches of fur were missing and she was extremely thin. She looked like a stray alley cat.

My fiance said, “That’s the neighbor’s cat Stinkie. I call her my mailbox friend because she walks down to the end of the road with me while I open up the mail.” We petted her and talked with her a bit and that’s all I saw of her for a couple of months.

After I moved in, Stinkie began to visit us. She would typically run up to greet me when I got home from work with a “Waah! Waah!” She had a LOT to say. There was a dog who made her life miserable; her owners fed her food she was allergic to; no one paid her any attention. How did I know she was allergic to her food? Stinkie threw up undigested food on my car almost every day... she was communicating the only way she knew how. And she sat on the rail of the front porch, chattering nonstop. “Waah! A thousand times waah!”

That first Oregon winter was a tough one. It snowed almost 8” and Stinkie’s owners did not bring her in from the cold. Not wanting to encourage her to stay with us, we did not feed her but felt the cold was too harsh for such a short-haired kitty. We compromised by putting an electric blanket on the front deck and she gratefully curled up.

The next summer, with our doors wide open, Stinkie began her “observations.” She would walk right in our front door, climb on top of my husband’s turntable cover, and watch us. She watched us eat dinner. She watched us interact with the other cats. She watched us watch movies. The entire time, it was as if she was making up her mind to do a very big thing.

Finally, after a few months of not being able to keep her out of the house, we let her stay. Stinkie had just turned 11. She befriended my husband’s elderly cat Trixie and kept Trixie company when the two boys Dr Tweety and Maxie were unruly. When Trixie went into renal failure at 16, Stinkie sat beside her day after day. After Trixie passed, Stinkie disappeared for three days. When she returned, she was depressed. It was the only time in my life I have ever heard a cat cry. She made low moaning noises and kept close, burrowing in my lap.

Several months later, we adopted Iris and Delilah. With the household now in a state of kitty flux, “Auntie” Stinkie took charge! She assumed alpha cat position and slapped the new kitten Delilah around. She let everyone know, including Maxie and Dr Tweety, that this was her home and she was the matron in charge of all things cat.

She demanded her eggs soupy and her chicken warm. “Waah! Waah!” But her nervous chattered subsided as the year passed. She no longer felt the need to be heard. Her home was with us and no one, even her former owner, contradicted that.

Auntie Stinkie was a survivor extraordinaire. She made it through skin cancer surgery, high blood pressure, total blindness, and lived well beyond what the vets thought three years ago. She adapted to her sightless state (even though I had a much more difficult time with it because I missed her looking straight at me and asking for her eggs!). She learned to use pet stairs next to the bed. She learned to feel her way around the garden and find that sweet sunny spot on the front deck. She found renewed vigor in her love for food and actually developed a bit of a pot belly by the time she was 16.

So here we are today. One month after her 19th birthday. I didn’t want to admit it, but I noticed the decline in her health a little before that landmark birthday. Her famous appetite wasn’t what it used to be and she was losing weight. Her iconic “Waah, waah had all but disappeared. But four days ago, she still managed to find her way to that sunny spot on the front porch.

Today, she can’t, nor can she walk more than a foot or two. Her muscles are too weak in the hind legs. It’s time to give her dignity.

We will miss her so much. She was my first Oregon friend and her dad’s first mailbox friend. We know how much all of you love your own dear furry friends and how the loss of each one touches another. We are one world within a complex universe that gives us both loss and love. Somehow, we weather the grief process together.

Dr Tweety will come back later in the summer, to let you know how we’re all doing. And we will visit you to see how you are all doing. Thank you so much for being our dear friends.

Auntie Stinkie's purr motor is back!!!

Oh dear friends!!!

Maybe the power of the purr is more miraculous than I had hoped! When I got home from work last night, Auntie Stinkie was sitting up and alert to the world around her. And, when I scritched her in her favorite places, she started to purr! Even with her snotty nosie!

She is just about finished with the antibiotics, but I am going to see if the vet wants her to have another round, since she still has a long recovery ahead. Quite a bit of hacking and sneezing, but there is something about her which says, "I haven't used up all of my nine lives yet Mommy!!!"

I am guarded about jumping up and down just yet, so we are all keeping our paws crossed and even our hind legs!

Note from Auntie Stinkie’s Momee:

Dear friends,

Thank you once more for the outpouring of love and purrs, from kitties and woofies that we have never met to loyal and loved old friends from the CB. We have felt the power of your love and our dear old girl is hanging in.

I am unable to return all the wishes right now, because life has been a bit out of hand this year, but I am reading each one and thinking about the good suggestions such as steaming and nasal drops.

Our girl is still not purring and she seems to be retreating a bit more… looking for that place where she can be comfortable and undisturbed by the other kitties. One thing is that even with both of us beans having to be away at work, Iris, our beautiful calico, has become her old Auntie’s nursemaid. Iris kisses her ears and sleeps near her. And we can see what a comfort she is to our blind girl.

She is still eating and drinking, but the cough and the snorting continues despite the antibiotics. We may take her back in on Saturday to see if we should run another test on her thyroid, since despite eating she is losing weight.

The vets seemed to think that this weight loss may be caused by a tumor. It’s so hard not to want her to be with us always yet keeping in mind the limitations on a little bitty kitty’s frail body. We have to remember that she is 93 in “people” years… a wonderful life span indeed.

An open letter to all of our friends from "Da Momee:"

We are so thankful for the outpouring of love for our sweetest girl. We so want to believe that she can pull out of this... but we also know the reality. The biggest struggle is knowing the right time: not before, in case she can recover—and not too late, in case she is suffering silently.

I have to believe that our vets and Auntie Stinkie herself will help guide us through this.

Last night we were encouraged by the fact that she ate all of her food, did not seem so hot to touch, drank water, and slept on my lap.

But what hurts and scares me is that she does not purr and has lost her famous "Stinkie Smile."

Please continue to purr, because I am lost without hope and courage.

And thank you so much, for your generosity of spirit.

We love you all.

Auntie Stinkie is extremely ill

Da dadee iz doin’ better, but we haz some terrybull newz to report. Our wonderful Auntie Stinkie (she iz 18 & a big half yearz old) iz seriously ill.

Da momee & da dadee tooks her to da vet a week ago & dey ran all kindsez of testez, but nothing showed why she iz unabull to breeth through her nozie. No cold, no flu, no virus, but awful plugged coghin’ & hackin’ & cannots smellz.

Az you know, a blind cat mustee smellz to eats & find da way around da housy. She haz losted almost 2 poundsez evfun though she eats. Da vets checked her thyroid but it wazzn’t hyper.

Da momee & da dadee watched oevfur her, but she gotted worsy, so dey tooks her back to da vet yesterday. Da two vets (both furry nice men) spents abouts an hour checkin’ her. Dey couldz runall kindsez of more tests (like MRI & some other tubez down her nozie) but dey wouldz has to give her anesthesia… & dis would not be good.

Da nice vets tink it iz a bad cancer dat old kitties sometimez get. A tumor in her nasal passagez near her brain. But dey are not sure. Da momee & da dadee couldz not lets her go to da Rainbow Bridge without tryin’ one more ting: atibioticsez, in case it iz a infecshun.

If da antibioticsez don’t works, den da good, kind vet will comez to da house & helps our dearest Auntie Stinkie.

Da momee cannots gets to da bloggie fur awhile… but if she can & she iz not so much cryin’, she will lets me let you know what iz goin’ to takes place.

We iz so sorree to givez out such bad newz. All our frendz haz been so loyal to us & to our Auntie. But we promise dats da momee & da dadee willz not lets her suffer.

I am sitting by my favorite sunflower in the garden and contemplating on all that has taken place this week.

Our friend Chey is finally eating, thank Bast!

Yet we also lost two friends from the CB that cannot be replaced.
The radiant and beautiful Luxor succumbed to his heart disease.
Dear Fat Eric, that delightful ginger cat from the UK went away to the bridge as well.

Sometimes in the face of such challenges it's hard to find the brightness of life. But I will try to be thankful today.

I am thankful that my knee will be repaired.

I am thankful that I have a Mommy and a Daddy who love me and would never hurt me.

I am thankful that they gave me this garden.

I am thankful that I have two Uncles: Tweety and Maxi.

I am thankful that I have a great Auntie Stinkie.

I am thankful that I have a wonderful sissie Iris.

I am thankful that it is finally summer in the Pacific Northwest and I am allowed to be outdoors safely supervised.

I am thankful that I have lost weight and am feeling much friskier.

But most of all, I am thankful for all my friends on the CB and the fact that today is Daddy's birthday and that he is alive and that he will be my Daddy always!

PS: Mommy is going away for two whole days, and we won't be visiting.

Hello every cat!!!

I want to thank each and every one who stopped by to give me advice about my upcoming surgery.

I am doing very well and have lost a whole pound!

But as you can see, Uncle Maxi is waiting for me to come out and play, and Mommy is being very cautious about my outside activities, since my knee is very unstable.

I feel less afraid after reading all of your comments... and I am sure things will go well. It looks as if I will go to surgery at the end of the month.

In the meantime, Mommy has done something reprehensible!

She purchased something off of the Internet and she says it is a "special house," just for me.

Does she think I am that naive?

I got a hold of Mommy's Photoshop to show you what I will be "housed" in following my surgery!!!

(I'm not very good with PS, but it will give you the general idea.)

What I want to know is, is this legal?

I overheard her say to Daddy that when a surgery costs $1600.00, she doesn't want me to wreck my knee because they didn't do everything to protect me afterwords.

Huh! Is money the issue here?!
What about my right to roam... my free spirit?

What do you cats think?

PS: I also heard Mommy say that we will try and get to every cat that sent us purrs, but it may take her awhile.
She and Daddy are working hard to pay for my surgery.

Delilah: "The big city doctor says I have torn my cranial cruciate ligament. This hurts my knee, making it unstable and I am unable to make my regular walks around the property.

Mommy says that the big city doc is coming down in August to perform a surgery!

She says we need help from other cats who have had this same injury... especially about how to stop me from jumping and going up and down stairs afterwords... for eight whole weeks.

I am trying to be brave but I am very afraid.
Mommy is afraid too.
But if I don't get the operation I won't walk right ever again.

I also am on a strict reducing diet.
I have already lost 10 ounces!!!
I am eating Royal Canin from my regular doc and you know what... it's not too bad.

Any purrs you can send my way will be much appreciated.
I don't know what I would do without the CB and my family at home.

I'm pretty lucky to have Dr Tweety for an uncle!"

Az many of you know, Delilah iz our gardun cat.
She iz da one who plants evfurry ting (Don't lets da momee fool you on dat score!) After all, dat iz her greenhouse dats da dadee builts her.

Dis shot waz frum May, when da seezon waz justee startin'.

Delilah waz sure dats da Climb-at-us waz gonna eats da entire gardun, but she gotted da momee to tiez it up.

In June, da gar-lick waz lookin' good.
(Do you remeburr lastee year when da dadee & Delilah built dat big kitty box? Well dis iz what Missy D grew instead of poops.)

In June, Delilah also sat guard oevfur her cukesez.

She waz growin' 'em on doze itty bitty ladderz so dats dey would not gets da dredded powdered mill-doo.

She & da dadee planted tomatoez in June too.

By July da housee needud to be burnt down.

Da momee said she couldz not cleen it 'cuz she hadz all dat work to do in da gardun.

But I don't see what work she couldda done when Delilah & us catsez didz it all!

Delilah hadz to cleen da housee up herself since we couldn't findz any matchez to start a fire.

She also pozed fur a tummy shot when she waz done.

Den in August, I made pick-kullz frum da cuksez dats Delilah planted. I waz furry carefull to process dem in da steem bath.

Den in mid-August, da beenz took a break!

This is Maximillian reporting. I wanted to tell all of my brother’s friends that I am recovering nicely. I have even started some glucosamine gel to help my spondylosis. Of course, it is wretchedly abhorrent to lick this goo from Daddy’s finger, but I will swallow it.

I have gained some weight back, and now it seems I am ready to take up my patrols once more. General Ah-Choo of the Burmese Security Council has given me extra time off with pay, and this summer the Nip Freighter should once again take to the “high” seas.

I could not have done it without you all pulling for me.

If Mommy will get her camera out and the computer will cooperate, I am donating some of Mommy’s beautiful and interesting cultural sterling jewelry to ML and KC’s cat auctions.

I want to donate the proceeds to kitties that have large vet bills like mine.

No one should go without the care they need because their Mommy or Daddy is without a job, or is struggling to pay the mortgage.

We are happy happy happy!!!!

Delilah: "It's true!!! Uncle Maxi's appetite stimulant is working! At 3a.m. Daddy got up to check on Maxi... he had refused warm food, even the special rich foods Dr Glaze wanted him to eat before we went to sleep. But then, all of a sudden, he wanted his kibbles. And he crunched and he munched!

Hooray I say!!! Hooray!!! My Uncle Maxi is back in town, and we have every one in the kitty bloggosphere to thank!

We will be seeing you over the weekend and into next week.

I could not have a better belated birthday, than to have Uncle Maxi really recovering. And we never would have thought about the appetite stimulant if it had not been for you.

Thank you for all your suggestions on getting Maxi to eat. I called Dr Glaze and I will stop by the vet’s office tonight after work. They will have an appetite stimulant and special foods to feed by syringe. We are determined to get this boy eating. (Nothing as stubborn as a meezer, eh?)

See below for updates from last night and special “post post.” We have been unable to celebrate anyone’s birthday this week. Delilah is four years young! I think Dr Tweety suggested a delayed party once we have Maxi on the mend. So take note, hairballs & spit wads will be encouraged.

Delilah: Oh I am so excited!!! Today is wonderful day
and Daddy loves me. He built me a greenhouse!! I have to go check it out."

Maximillian: "Um, I fail to what all the shouting is about Delilah.
Although, I do think I see some possibilities with this little glass hut."

Maximillian: "For instance, what's in those tiny cups???"

Delilah: "It's something of Mommy's. I wouldn't get too excited bro, it's not exactly nip."

Maximillian: "No, not there.. look up.. on the shelf."

Maximillian: "Go ahead poppet... I dare you to jump up there and see what it is!"

Delilah: "Okay!!! Are you happy now? It's not nip... I think it's Daddy's tomatoes."

A brief update on Maxi

Maxi is still not himself. He still will not eat. He has lost a lot of weight.We bought baby food, turkey and chicken, and some tuna that he usually loves. He refuses all food and growls. The one difference between the weekend and now, is that he actually will sit up and stare out the window. He wants out and to be patrolling his territory.

He is very depressed and I just can't help but be worried.

We may try and force feed him.

I want you all to know that I will try and bring Dr Tweety around to see you this weekend, and over the next several days after. It may take us awhile, but if you stopped here to purr, we will stop there to show our gratitude.

We are not going to forget ANY one of you dear friends.

Tomorrow, I am still going to let the blog we prepared last weekend, before Maxi got sick, go ahead and post. Maybe it will lift all of our spirits.

Da Maxi iz da Alpha Bet Cat. He iz da boss of moi. But I haz great ree-spect fur him. Mebbe I waz tinkin' dat life wouldz be eezier if I waz da Alpha Bet Cat... but three nightsez witout him haz shed a new light on da stitchy-nation.

Dere were some howlin' & some night noizez frum some masked bandits out dere lastee night & I waz not in da mood to go see what waz uppee. If da Maxi had been here, he wouldz haz dis-patched dem up!

Da Maxi iz still purrty sickie. He haz not eatsen since Sun-day. Dat iz a furry long time. But hiz fevfur iz down, & he is so egg-sauced dat he iz sleepin' in his favorite chair.

Dr Glaze just phoned. Maxi’s fever has broken and is down to 102.98!!! If he stays like that through the day, he gets to come home tonight. He is still depressed in the cage, but he actually gave Dr Glaze head-butts this morning… and he has not done that since he got sick.

I want to celebrate, but Dr Glaze is cautious too, and does not want to “jinx” anything. I am sure there will be a recovery period where he’ll be on his antibiotics, and possibly later, his new spondylosis meds.

I cannot think of a better birthday present for Dr Tweety and the rest of us.

May all of you know that we were in your capable paws. Does purring work??? You better believe it does!!! And you all have done your work. Some of you even got up from your own post-surgery and sick beds to wish Maxi well.

Don’t worry about auctions for us just yet. We’re taking this one step at a time. But I tell you what, we can certainly give back to the CB community the kind of energy you have shown us.

I will be donating, in Maxi’s name, some vintage jewelry items to help in future raffles. I’ll coordinate this with ML & KC. So maybe we can all have a little cushion when it comes to helping our fellow feline friends. Hopefully, none of us will need it..

Maxi last year

Dear friends, I stopped and visited with my boy tonight. His head was low and he did not want to move at all. I held his face in my hands and gently rubbed his cheeks and scritched underneath his chin. I felt (not heard) a purr in his throat, despite it all. He has two formulas in his IV line. The repeat x-rays of the abdomen were inconclusive... Dr Glaze may send them to a radiologist for confirmation tomorrow.

I used my hands to move blocked energy from his energy field. His ears when I rubbed them, were cool. After I finished with his little Healing Touch session, he looked at me with his lovely "Baby Siamezie" eyes.

Yup. I have all kinds of names for him that I whispered softly.. calling on his spirit to to find strength, and to fight the fever. "Senor, como esta?" "Ahhh, you are my big husky dog." "Maxi-puss." "Breezy Siameezey" "Maxer."

Everyone at the clinic feels bad that they cannot figure out what is wrong. But in spite of my fear of losing this guy, I have to know that there is the positive motion of positive thought and prayer.

He has to feel this enormous amount of energy flowing his way. I will fight my own weaknesses and continue to find a way to believe he'll be coming home, and once again, rule our lives.

I am sending a thousand kisses and thanks your way... every one of you.

Update 3:30 p.m. Not good news.

The vet called. Maxi’s temperature is now back up to 106. He is extremely lethargic. They are now x-raying the abdomen for the third time. Our bill, totaled with the ER vet, is around $1,000 and we are no closer to discovering why we have such a sick kitty.

We’re at a dangerously precarious crossroads, and I feel like I’m in sort of limbo. I know all of you love your furry friends. You know how helpless you feel to help them. I’m sorry that I can’t report more positive news. It is not looking very good for our beloved King.

Update, April 14, 9:10 a.m.

I just heard from the vet’s office. Maxi’s temp is slowly coming down! It was 104 this morning, and apparently he was feeling strong enough to pull out his catheter. His breathing is less labored, but he is still not eating.

We will know around 4:45 p.m. if he is well enough to come home tonight.

I saw Maxi last night around 6:30 p.m. He is very depressed and very low. His temp was still 106... and they had ice packs around his body to cool him down. He will not eat yet. I tried Therapeutic Touch (a little like Reiki) on him, and his ears went from burning hot to cooler by the time I was done. But we are very worried, and have not heard from the staff yet this morning.

With all of your purrs, I know he can fight to get better. Thank you. Da Dadee and I are feeling a little fragile as you might surmise.

Maxi’s temperature is still very high. 106.2 Our vet has started the IV line back up, and will be giving Maxi fluids overnight. They have cleaned and dressed the wound from where the toenail was dug in. They have started him on a broad spectrum antibiotic. Unfortunately, he is going to have to spend another night away from home, and the vet says he is very “down.”

I am going to try and make it to their office before they close tonight (it’s 30 miles from where I work) to see him and give him a pep talk. As the vet told me, “We’re not out of the woods yet.”

I won’t post until tomorrow when I have more news. I think both “da dadee” and I, and the rest of the kitties who miss their “King” will try and get some rest. Thank you all for kindnesses and purrs.

Update: 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2009
Maximillian’s vet called. A blockage to the intestines has been ruled out. However, Maxi’s temperature shot up to 106.3, and our good Dr Glaise says that something else was afoot. And foot I believe, is the issue.

Maxi is polydactyl, and has large toes and even smaller ones, and many, MANY toes on his left foot. One toe, hidden beneath his furry goodness, had an ingrown toenail that the Emergency Vet missed last night. This toenail was dug into Maxi’s foot about 3/4”, and had swollen tissue surrounding it.

So, he has been started on antibiotics, given more pain meds (the vet thinks that his spondylosis found last night was a coincidental factor in the entire event, and will be treated once we have Maxi back to health) and the IV catheter pulled from his leg in case it is an infection from the IV site. He may be staying overnight again if his fever does not come down by 4:00 p.m.

I promise to let you know how things go. Thank you again for all of your beautiful supportive comments. It is truly sweet, and goes straight into our hearts and spirits. Bless you all.

A note from Tweet's "mommee"

We did not want to post this yesterday, but Maximillian, Dr Tweety’s “brudder” became very ill over the last 36 hours. I just did not want to put more bad news out there, especially if he was going to be better. As he grew more and more lethargic yesterday evening, we made the decision to not wait until this morning, and we took him to the emergency vet clinic.

It was very apparent that he was in a lot of pain. After hours of waiting tensely in the exam room, x-rays, blood tests, catheterizing, and even the vet telling us that he might have a heart attack under anesthesia, we finally got the news. Our guy had such severe arthritis inflammation in his spine, that he simply gave up, and did not want to move, eat or drink. As a result, he became severely dehydrated and short of breath.

And to plague the guilt within me, the vet said he has been in pain for months. This explains his grumpiness, hissing at times, and maybe even some of his attitude towards Tweet.

We attributed his moodiness to his curled toenails on his extra toes, which sometimes can become ingrown. We were reluctant to try and cut them ourselves (he really is quite the fighter!), and were going to schedule him for an appointment.

Okay. So at midnight, after surviving the anesthesia, and braving all of the tests, we got to see our boy, and give him a kiss goodnight. They are keeping him hydrated and making sure he gets nutrition and pain meds. Tweet’s Daddy will pick Maxi up this morning and transfer him to our regular vet’s office, where they will either keep him for observation or let him come home. He will need pain meds and glucosamine for the rest of his life, which the emergency vet said should be of good quality if we manage his arthritis.

If we have not stopped by to personally wish you all a Happy Easter, something that Dr Tweety was working on when this happened, I apologize. Dr Tweety also deployed a blog for this coming Wednesday, in which our dear Maximillian stars.

I think we could have lost him very easily. And I owe this cat so much. I feel like a bad mommy for not knowing just how bad his problems with his spine were. Thank you all for being such good friends.

Thanks to all of my friends, old and new, who have stopped by to purr for me.

I am still recovering: doing some sneezing, but my cough is gone, and I am sleeping with Mommy and Daddy every night. I am eating my pill pockets and taking my blood pressure meds like the good girl I am.

My mommy has been very touched by the outpouring of purrs. As some of you know, Dr Tweety has been on hiatus for awhile. We had some family illnesses, computer virus problems, and much broo-hah at Mommy’s work. Many people are being laid off, but thankfully, Mommy just found out she is not on the cut list.

We will make the rounds to visit every one this weekend, and hopefully, publish lots of new pictures. Mommy and Daddy took lots of pictures over the last 6 weeks, planning for the blog, and when we could get back to it.

But again dear friends, I could not be the old girl I am, without all of your help. I am so looking forward to summer, when I will be able to sit in my favorite sunny spot on the porch. But for now, Mommy says I am banned from sunbathing in 45-degree weather.
I think I will have Tweet deposit a hairball on Mommy’s pillow.

Your purrzez haz worked!!!

Da momee justed gotted home wit our Auntie Stinkie... & she doez nots haz da congestive heart fay-lure.

Da nice docktor gavez her some fluidz & tooks her lung & heart soundz & evfun didz her blood presshure. Auntie passed wit flyin' colorz.

Lastee night, da momeee thought dat mebbe Auntie waz goin' to da rainbow bridge.

She waz coughin' & sneezin' & her didz not want to drink or eats.

She gotted too cold in da gardun. Az some of her old frendz know Auntie lovez to be in her gardun... but it iz still furry cold & wit a senior kitty on medz fur her kidneez, it waz mebbe too cold fur her to be outside.

Da momee wrapped her in a big hand knit swetter, & she slepted wit da dadee & da momee & dey kept wakin' up to monitor her coughin' spellz.

Da nice cat docktor tinks mebbe she gotted a grass or a peece of dirt or a bug evfun, trapped in sinusez. So she wore herself out tryin' to get its out.

Da good newz iz dat she seemz like she iz outta da woodz.
